CheckoutFor the past seventeen years, under the auspices of the Hamstreet and District Sports and Leisure Association, the Hamstreet Country Show has been an annual two-day event to raise funds initially for improvements to the Hamstreet Sports Field and, more recently, for the construction of the new Sports Pavilion. For 2013 a new single-day event is being arranged under the name of Hamstreet Festival of Transport, with a few different ideas and surprises. These include a Model Aircraft Display, Microlights Fly-In and Static Display, The Red Wheelies Scooter Formation Display Team, The Swinging 60s Band, Hot Air Balloon Inflation, a Fun Fair, Helicopter Pleasure Flights, a fun Dog Show, a Puppet Show, a Dutch Street Organ, Miki and Jolly Dizzy the Clown, Loose Women Morris and, of course, many Food and Craft Stalls including Goupie.

Mark your diaries for October 4th, 5th and 6th when many exciting food producers, as well as Goupie, come to town for the Broadstairs Food Festival 2013. Originally started in 2009, the aim was to create a new and prestigious event for Broadstairs and the surrounding towns - with the emphasis on promoting local tourism and supporting local traders. The inaugural festival proved to be a resounding success with approximately 15,000 people attending the three-days. The event has now proved so successful that it attracts around 50,000 visitors.
